Meet Tessa
Birth Doula. birth Educator. Postpartum Doula.
Hi, I’m Tessa
the heart behind Flourish Birth Collective.
I’m a mother of four, a birth doula, and a postpartum doula who believes that every woman deserves to feel supported, informed, and confident as she steps into motherhood.
My story

My own experiences with birth have shaped the way I support the families I work with. I’ve experienced birth in a variety of ways. I’ve had two inductions with epidurals and two unmedicated births. Experiencing both medicated and unmedicated births has given me a unique perspective on just how different each birth can be. Every experience has taught me something new and reminded me that there is no single “right” way to give birth.
One of the most meaningful parts of my own journey was experiencing the difference that having a doula could make. Having someone beside me who offered encouragement, reassurance, information, and steady support changed the way I experienced birth. It showed me just how powerful it can be when a mother feels truly supported.

That experience inspired me to become that person for other women.

Birth is a transformative experience that deserves preparation, understanding, and support.
My approach

As your doula, I’m not there to tell you how your birth should unfold. I’m there to walk alongside you, help you understand your choices, and offer steady support as you navigate the decisions that feel right for you and your baby.
As a birth educator, I provide personalized, one-on-one education tailored to you, your pregnancy, and the birth you’re preparing for. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, we can focus on the information that matters most to you, answer your questions, and prepare you with knowledge you can actually use. We’ll talk through what to expect, your options, comfort measures, and how to communicate your wishes with your care team so you can feel empowered throughout the process.
Above all, I bring a calm, compassionate presence to every birth. I’ll meet you where you are, listen to what matters most to you, and support you without judgment. Whether you’re planning an unmedicated birth, considering an epidural, preparing for an induction, or simply want someone beside you through it all, you don’t have to walk into birth alone.

More than a doula
Outside of birth work, I’m a wife, a mom, and a small business owner.
Life in our family is full. It’s busy, sometimes messy, and filled with the everyday moments that make motherhood so meaningful. I love spending time with my family, being outdoors, and watching my kids grow into who they are.
I also have a creative side that has found its own little home through my hair accessory business, where I create bows, scrunchies, headbands, clips, and other accessories for little ones and women of all ages.
Running a small creative business has taught me so much about community, connection, and the beauty of creating something with your own hands. It’s a completely different side of me than birth work, but it’s something I love and that has become a special part of who I am.
At the heart of both businesses is something simple: I love creating things that make people feel cared for, supported, and a little more confident.
